WWE is advertising that Rey Mysterio will return to WWE television next week and he is currently scheduled to appear at next Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings at the Valley View Casino in San Diego, California.
He may also appear at WWE Raw the next before but he is not currently advertised for an appearance.
Mysterio has been out of action since last summer, initially with a lengthy injury but more recently due to a 60-day suspension for his second violation of WWE’s Talent Wellness Policy.
We had expected that WWE would place Rey Mysterio (and incidentally The Miz who is also set for a return this month after filming The Marine 3) into the Raw Money in the Bank ladder match after it was declared that only former WWE Champions were eligible to enter. The match certainly looks like it needs a high-flyer in there and Mysterio would have fitted the bill perfectly but instead WWE has decided to bring back Mysterio after the pay-per-view.
If we were booking, we would make Mysterio square off against Hunico on SmackDown for his return match and get the clean win as Hunico is a great performer who would likely get the best out of Mysterio.
