Rey's WWE return gets further and further away.

Those hankering for a Rey Mysterio return to World Wrestling Entertainment best prepare themselves for some disappointment, as Deadline is reporting that the Master of the 619 has signed a new deal with the El Rey Network, home to Lucha Underground.

The new deal also extends further than the squared circle, and will see Mysterio develop, produce and consult on creative projects and series. These will be both unscripted and scripted. El Rey Network President and General Manager Daniel Tibbets stated that Rey 'has a keen eye for entertainment and embodies the El Rey Network Brand...'

The El Rey Network is home to Lucha Underground, the third season of which is due to stat in just over two weeks. Rey featured in the main event of the second season, defeating Prince Puma (Ricochet) in a dream match to close out the wrestling portion of the show.

As for these other projects, time will tell. This news combined with pictures of Rey on his Instagram looking oh so henched suggest that a return to World Wrestling Entertainment is pretty far off, to say the least.
