Ring Of Honor Confirms Samoa Joe's ROH Farewell June 20

Since he's WWE bound, no more ROH shows for Joe.

Samoa Joe will be wrestling his last match for Ring of Honor on June 20 in New York City when he teams up with AJ Styles against the ROH Tag Team Champions Christopher Daniels and Kazarian. The news was confirmed in a Ring of Honor press release. With Joe signing a full time WWE contract last week (or at least he was expected to), there were still doubts about if he would be able to work that ROH show. They have a TV taping that night and the original plan was for it to be taped, but that was before the ROH deal with Destination America was announced. Most likely they won't be able to tape the match for television since WWE will want him to only be on NXT for the time being. While ROH could certainly use Joe's star power on their shows, there's nothing they can do. WWE is the bigger company that can dictate the terms of the deal, so most likely ROH will just treat it as a dark match for the fans in NYC. As we have mentioned in the last week, Joe is going to keep working the indie dates he has booked into August as long as they don't conflict with anything WWE wants him to do. Once September hits, he'll be full time to WWE meaning they could end up calling up him to main roster although there's no timetable on when that might happen. You can watch Joe's first NXT match this Wednesday on WWE Network. Joe will also be wrestling on three NXT live events on Thursday June 11 in Pittsburgh, June 12 in Cleveland and June 13 in Columbus.
