Rob Van Dam Recently Turned Down WWE Return

The money apparently wasn't a 5-Star offer.

In October of last year, The Dudley Boyz went to war with The Wyatt Family. They brought back Rhino and Tommy Dreamer to help them even the odds, but apparently the original idea was for Rob Van Dam to be in the place of one of the two.

While that certainly would have made the feud a little more interesting, apparently Van Dam was not too keen on the idea. Or at least not excited about WWE's financial offer.

Van Dam participated in a Q & A with RAW Events UK, which The Buzzards Wrestling Podcast released parts of, and said that the money offered wouldn't be worth his while.

Also of note is that he's not sure he's ever going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and he's not even sure if his in-ring career is over at this point.

At 45-years-old, Van Dam would likely have to return soon if he ever wants another run in WWE. While other former stars can rely on brawling into their later years, RVD made a name for himself with his high-flying abilities, which tend to greatly diminish as one gets older.

Rob shouldn't be too hard on himself, and can hopefully take some comfort that a Hall of Fame induction is incredibly likely someday.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
