It looks like Sami Zayn could be set to take some time off from WWE, with reports suggesting he's been working through multiple injuries during his recent feud with Bobby Lashley.

PWInsider reported the news yesterday, explaining that Zayn is on his way to Birmingham, Alabama for medical examination, with the team in Birmingham being WWE’s go to specialists when it comes to treating their in-ring talent.

This could be the reason why the recent match at Money In The Bank saw Lashley essentially squashing Sami in such a one-sided fashion, but could also elaborate on why Zayn has been stuck doing those excruciatingly awful promos (and why Lashley never retaliated too).

At this time, it’s sounding like Sami has been dealing with both shoulder and knee injuries. The former could be tied to his previous shoulder injury that marred his main roster debut against John Cena back in 2015. While he is only scheduled for a medical examination, once his issues are highlighted and diagnosed we’ll know more about whether or not surgery/rehabilitation will be required and how long he could be facing on the sidelines.

It's never nice to see any wrestler getting injured, but this could actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Zayn, as his programme with Lashley has been nothing short of disastrous. Although Zayn did everything he could with the garbage he was given by creative, sometimes you just can’t turn that chicken s**t into chicken salad, and ultimately both men have suffered from this feud.

We’ll have more on Zayn’s injuries as it comes, but for now here’s hoping the Underdog from the Underground can get himself back to 100% very soon and put all of this Bobby Lashley nonsense firmly behind him.
