Sami Zayn could be set for a sensational WWE NXT return after the promotion ran an angle between the former 'Underdog from the Underground' and Performance Center athlete Daniel Vidot during the current tour of Australia.

Vidot, a former rugby league player, was accosted by the mouthy Zayn at yesterday's show in Brisbane. Daniel has since issued a stern response in which he claims to have "nothing but respect for the guy," but asks "what are you thinking coming at my family like that?", saying that Sami "got what [he] deserved" after leaving him lying in the ring.

This has led to speculation that Zayn could be on his way to WWE's black and gold brand to continue the angle, per EWrestlingNews.com. It's worth noting, however, that Vidot hasn't even made his televised debut yet, having wrestled just 21 house show matches since signing with WWE.

Zayn's last TV match came on the 19 August episode of Raw. It looks like he won't be used as anything other than Shinsuke Nakamura's SmackDown mouthpiece for the foreseeable future, so a return to the show where he made his name could make all the sense in the world.
