Show was "a joke", says Zayn.

Even though WWE's Raw Reunion show proved a relative ratings hit, it wasn't for everybody (and, as next week's regular episode might prove, perhaps not for the majority who tuned in).

One of the more notable names unhappy about the one-off legends bonanza was the brand's own Sami Zayn, who made a withering and totally-genuine-honest-guv Tweet after the fact, describing the show as a 'joke'.

Zayn took aim at the old-timers hanging around the business long past their prime, inviting everybody to punch him in the maw should he be so desperately clinging to his fame years after hanging up his boots.

Of course, the Tweet is laced with irony; the only reason WWE called up the crew of legends is because the current crop is incapable of drawing numbers. That is to say, the company needs them - and not vice-versa.

Zayn concluded that "like most great artists", he is vastly underappreciated in his own time. He advised his employers focus on talent in their prime such as himself, rather than getting misty eyed over days long gone.

Of course, Zayn did feature on Monday's Raw. He was beaten by Rey Mysterio, thanks to the intrusion of legends Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle, and Sgt. Slaughter. Obviously, the above Tweet is complete twaddle, and means absolutely nothing with regards to Zayn's ongoing WWE status.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
