Sami Zayn Undergoing MRI For Potential Shoulder Injury

WWE taking precautions with NXT star.

Sami Zayn is undergoing testing for a shoulder injury. WWE has announced that he'll be getting an MRI, to determine the extent of any damage that he may have sustained during a Raw match with John Cena. There's no confirmation if this is a WWE work or legitimate injury. Shoulder injuries can prove a mixed bag for WWE superstars. The Undertaker has been dogged by shoulder problems in his career, and Randy Orton has also had troubles in the past. In the case of someone like The Undertaker, it is a chronic condition that has required long lay offs. But the hope will be that Zayn is young and durable enough to bounce back quickly. In the less severe cases of shoulder injuries, it won't even require missed ring time. It could just be a case of resting up. Shoulders are always a potential injury threat for wrestlers, relating to the constant landing of force on the back. Ideally, a wrestler should take any fall with a flat back. But it isn't always that easy, and the shoulder area can end up taking some awkward impacts. If Zayn is ruled out for any length of time, it will derail his NXT push in the next few months. That'll be a real shame, as he's already suffered a lacklustre 2015 in which he has barely featured on the NXT tv show.
