Joe looks set to miss an undetermined amount of time following his latest injury.

As expected, it looks like the injury suffered by Samoa Joe on this week's episode of WWE Raw was, indeed, a concussion.

This has been confirmed by Dave Meltzer of Figure Four Online/the Wrestling Observer, who notes that while there's no word on when Joe will be able to return to the ring, 'The Samoan Submission Machine' is now being monitored through WWE's usual concussion protocol.

Joe took a hard bump on the floor after diving through the ropes and onto Buddy Murphy. Him and Kevin Owens were teaming to face Murphy and Seth Rollins for the Raw Tag Team Championships, though Joe had to be removed from the match immediately after taking the landing. The referee made that call, Joe was taken to the backstage area to be evaluated, and the rest of the bout had to be called on the fly.

This must be a huge personal disappointment for Joe, who had only just returned to action after another injury forced him into a temporary role in the Raw announce booth. His main roster run has regularly been hampered by injuries so here's hoping he mounts a swift recovery.
