Shaquille O'Neal has told NBA Today that a match with The Big Show will be "going down" at WrestleMania 33.
This follows on from theunresolvedclash between the two giants at Sunday's WrestleMania 32 in the Andre TheGiant MemorialBattle Royal.
Following that match, in a WWE.com interview with Renee Young, Shaqteased a future showdown with WWE's giant. It now looks like 'Mania 33 will host the match, in what will likely be built up as a major mid card gimmick bout.
Shaq versus Big Show has of coursebeen rumoured as a potential 'Mania matchfor years. They've had their scrapes on Raw in the past, and they've fanned the flames in interviews. Yet the match never happened.
But after what happened at Mania 32, it does now seem likely that fans will be seeing the one-on-one match at WrestleMania 33.
It will be a major attraction, one that will earn WWE significant mainstream coverage. The four time NBA Champion is still a major celebrity, and the giant versus giant concept should get over with the masses.
There's also a now or never aspect to this booking. Both men will be 45 by the time of Mania 33 rolls around next spring.
