Some Big Name Wrestlers Jumping Ship To MMA?

Let the speculation begin!

Bobby Lashley returned to MMA action last weekend, picking up a win at Bellator 138 (which featured Youtube star Kimbo Slice defeating UFC/WWE legend Ken Shamrock in the main event) that marks his third victory in a row in the promotion. However, in the lead up to his second round TKO over Bellator/Rage in the Cage vet Dan Charles, Lashley let slip a little tidbit to Submission Radio that many in the wrestling world may find interesting. According to the former WWE superstar/TNA champ, several past/present pro wrestlers are currently planning to jump ship to the world of MMA. And while he didn't name names, he did note that there was more than one who could potentially make the jump. Let the speculation begin! To date, Lashley is the only fighter to successfully juggle both professions, but it's likely that in this case, the wrestlers in question would be going the CM Punk route, and jumping from one to the other, not trying to do both. He did, in fact, talk about cut wrestlers during the interview as well, so there may be some correlation there. Although remember that Alberto Del Rio was rumoured to be in talks with several promotions as recently as earlier this year, and that Bill Goldberg was considering a kickboxing match with GLORY - which is now co-promoting with Bellator MMA. Then there's the UFC, who dove full on into the pro wrestling crossover world by signing CM Punk in December. Could they double-dip and pick up a second pro wrestler? It's unlikely, but there's no doubt that Bellator and even the WSOF (World Series of Fighting) would be very interested in the name value pro wrestlers would bring to the table. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5VKOXK3mxA Keep in mind also that these promotions would only really be interested in notable names at this point, so you'd have to assume any potential talent looking to cross over would at least be in the mid-card range.
