Sting's WWE Debut At SummerSlam?

Sting will be in Los Angeles over SummerSlam weekend where he is expected to sign his WWE contract.

ThSting's WWE deal could be signed before August 17th's SummerSlam event, reports Wrestling Observer. A source told the Newsletter that "they were hopeful of getting it done by SummerSlam, since Sting is coming to Los Angeles for the event." The former WCW star is not currently scheduled for an appearance on the show, but if his deal gets signed in time, there's a chance he could make his debut at the event. The deal has been close to being signed for a number of months now, with Sting vocally enthusiastic about joining the company. The reason Sting will be in Los Angeles on the August 16 - 17th weekend is because of his 2K deal. As the marketing point for the WWE 2K15 video game, Sting will be part of events around SummerSlam promoted by 2K. That will include press interviews and the game's official roster revealing. It will be very similar to the comic-con appearance he made this past week. In that role, Sting wasn't appearing under a 2K or WWE deal, he was there under a deal he has with Mattel. He's still very much a free agent in the wrestling respect, with no WWE deal signed. The feeling within WWE is that he's became an even bigger commodity from all the buzz of his toy and video game deal. Fan interest is high, encouraged by Sting stating in interviews that he'd like to wrestle in WWE against either The Undertaker, The Rock or John Cena. Another thing Sting has noted in press interviews, is that he's never actually met Vince McMahon ever. Their first ever meeting will presumably take place in three weeks time at SummerSlam, where both men will finally be in the same building. It seems logical that Sting's deal will be finalised at that meeting, perhaps leading to his on-air debut at the SummerSlam event itself.
