Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho is now a No Disqualification match, as per an official release from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The IWGP United States Title bout will take place on January 4th's Wrestle Kingdom 12 pay-per-view, which is essentially considered NJPW's answer to WrestleMania, and will be screened as part of AXS TV's US coverage two days later. It has understandably featured heavily in NJPW's promotional campaign, and is now considered a co-main event with Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito's IWGP Heavyweight Title fight.

First announced on November 5th, 'Alpha vs. Omega' has really heated up over the past week, with 'Y2J' bloodying 'The Cleaner' after an ambush at December 11th's NJPW World Tag Team finals. This was followed with a press conference brawl the following day, as Kenny leapt upon his opponent mid-promo, only to be laid out when Jericho uprooted a table and threw it at him.

Such stipulations are rare for New Japan. The promotion usually only deal in standard singles matches, so Jericho vs. Omega becoming a No DQ bout is a big deal, and signifies that while it may not be a five-star classic, it should be Wrestle Kingdom's most heated clash.
