Just like WWE, New Japan like to start their new wrestling year with a bang and while WWE fans hugely anticipate the Raw after WrestleMania, NJPW's New Year Dash provides the perfect opportunity to introduce new storylines and performers.

In the co-main event a Chaos team of Okada, Goto, Ishii, Yano and Will Ospreay took on Shibata, Honma, Makabe, Nagata and Juice Robinson, with Juice gaining the pinfall over the new NEVER Openweight Champion Goto and holding the belt aloft. What happened after this turned the event upside down.

The Suzuki-gun stable had been absent from New Japan since Wrestle Kingdom 9, where they left to invade Pro Wrestling Noah. Now that the relationship between the two promotions has reportedly deteriorated, Suzuki-gun are back to pick up where they left off in New Japan.

Led by the big-man team of Lance Archer and Davey Boy Smith Jr., the faction laid waste to everyone in sight, specifically the IWGP Tag Champions Ishii and Yano. Okada started to mount a comeback but in the top right of the frame you can see the faction leader Minoru Sukuki casually making his way to the ring before he took out the IWGP Heavyweight Champion with the Gotch Piledriver. It looks as though the stable will challenge for both the Heavyweight and Tag Team Titles.

For those unfamiliar with Suzuki check out WCPW Refuse To Lose where he took on Joe Coffey. Also at New Year Dash the team of Hiroshi Tanahashi, Manabu Nakanishi and Taguchi defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon to become IWGP NEVER Openweight 6-Man Champions.
