The Disturbing Truth Behind Vince McMahon Selling WWE

Will WWE improve if Vince McMahon sells up? He has a famous catchphrase that acts as a neat summary.

Alexa Bliss Lilly

WWE is not good right now.

Monday Night RAW is a disastrous sh*t-show that is more insulting than the transparent engagement-generator that is Alexa Bliss and Lilly. For weeks, fans watched Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin go 50/50 in an inconclusive and mid tag team break-up storyline, only for Jeff Hardy to emerge from obscurity to defeat the man who didn't even win the programme. The horror movie bullsh*t is divisive, but it isn't even good horror. The ongoing Shayna Baszler storyline is trite cliché welded onto pro wrestling. It's every horror movie you've ever seen.

SmackDown and NXT are superior shows, but neither are great nor white hot nor anything close. Any criticism of Roman Reigns is considered sacrilege, and while the individual performance is excellent, the storyline saga is not. If it's good storytelling, it's not particularly good pro wrestling storytelling. Who is the babyface lined up to replace him at the head of the table? Where's the energy? Where are the angles? It's a half-decent Hollywood audition tape that results in a monthly banger of a wrestling match with absolutely zero doubt cast over the outcome. Meanwhile, underneath, Roman's excellent facials and presence obscure the fact that Bayley laughs in Bianca Belair's face in a manner that is just utterly excruciating.

The show isn't even at its most obnoxious when Shinsuke Nakamura and King Corbin are going 50/50 across five bastard weeks.
