The Miz Talks Current State Of WWE Drug Testing

Is WWE drug testing a thorough process?

The Miz has spoken about WWE's drug testing policy, revealing details about its thoroughness. It isn't something you hear WWE superstars talking about often, given the negative associations of WWE and drugs in the past. Miz told the "Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss" show that WWE is now tested more than most major American sports, and he went on to really put over the health checks;
"We are tested more than an NFL , Major League Baseball player, or in the NBA. I mean, we are tested nonstop, all day, every day. We're not allowed to have Sudafed. you have a Sudafed, you're out 30 days, so it's legit. The stuff you maybe got away with back in the day, you don't get away with now. And kudos to WWE because they took an interest in our health. We get tested. Our hearts get tested. We get tested every six months. We get blood tested, we get our heart monitored, and it's great."
However, readers should bear in mind that The Miz is one of WWE's ultimate company men. He lives and breathes WWE, constantly towing the company line. He's a PR dream, hence why WWE wheel him out to so many media appearances. Granted, WWE did a lot for their wrestlers in the decade since Eddie Guerrero died of heart failure, but there is a feeling from insiders like Dave Meltzer that the company has maybe loosened priorities. There hasn't been a drug test failure in some time, with the exception of Hornswoggle. That's a little odd... does it suggest that everyone is clean, or does it suggest that WWE's tests aren't thorough enough? Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez have remarked in the past year that some WWE bodies still look like they've had more than just weights and protein. But, if you take Miz's word, WWE is a company with more stringent testing than any major American sport.
