These have been the two biggest questions in wrestling this year and they’re both, effectively, the same thing. We knew that his contract was coming to an end, sure, but the very public way WWE were promoting his sendoff just made it all seem a little bit too suspicious...
In the end the answers were no and yes in that order. He left the company in April exactly when he said he would and then appeared during the closing segment of Double or Nothing to stick both Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. The internet, as you might expect, lost its mind.
It seems obvious looking back on it now but, regardless, a lot of people out there were insistent it was a work. Here are a few such examples....
