Here’s a short quiz.

“It does seem like there’s an expiration date on my title reign… psych!”

Which WWE Diva - sorry, Superstar - said those words?

“I just wanted to say to all the women in the locker room, all of you out here, the WWE Universe at home… you’re welcome. Yes it’s happening, yes it’s historic, and it’s because of me. I’m the gift that keeps on giving!”

Which WWE Diva - sorry, Superstar - said those words?

“This must be one of the those language barrier things, especially since she’s like, screaming right in my face. What Asuka is trying to say… ”

Which WWE Diva - sorry, Superstar - said those words?

“I mean, like, everybody’s ready for Asuka!”

Which WWE Diva - sorry, Superstar - said those words?

The answers are Alexa Bliss and Carmella, though if you were a casual observer, you would be hard pressed to determine which is which, exactly. There is a slight difference between the disingenuous and irritating characters: Alexa is slightly more disingenuous, and Carmella is slightly more irritating.

It’s not just the verbiage; the cadence is identical. Both women - blonde, slim, photogenic - utter these words with a condescending inflection designed to draw heat. They are superior. They are 1990s teen movie prom queens. The female heels of WWE are manipulative. They are insincere. They are - loathe though I am to write this word, but it’s impossible to ignore - bitchy.
