The Rock Returns To Raw For WrestleMania Push

As expected, The Great One showed up in Miami.

The Rock has returned to Monday night Raw, in an effort to push the upcoming WrestleMania special. He said he was ready for Mania, without actually revealing his plans for the show. That's probably because WWE still have no idea what role he'll be playing, although one rumour is he'll be in Roman Reigns' corner against Triple H. The Rock's return had been expected - especially after WWE teased a big return on social media and with Raw being taped in Miami, where Rocky is filming the second season of Ballers. His family were also at the show and it was more an appearance of convenience for The Great One, it was an opportunity to come in and catch up with the WWE. Backstage meetings were likely held with Vince McMahon to discuss the Mania plans. His actual segment was the typical Rocky mic comedy, with The New Day eventually getting involved for some cheap laughs. It wasn't anything amazing, but Rock is so much greater on the mic than the usual performers that it still came off like fantastic television. And he did put The New Day over a little on the mic, before being joined by The Usos and kicking some ass. Raw was also notable for AJ Styles versus Chris Jericho, in a very good television match. All in all, this was one of the best Raw episodes in quite a while.
