The Undertaker's 10 Best Non-WrestleMania Matches

It's not just at Mania where 'The Deadman' steals the show.

The Undertaker is a bonafide WWE legend and in a whopping 26 years with the company, you'd better believe he's had his fair share of classic moments.

He's perhaps most closely associated with WrestleMania and most fans think of the annual supershow first when naming his best matches.

After all, Taker's WrestleMania undefeated streak was a thing of legend but so was his insane run between 2007 and 2013 of having the best match every year at the 'Showcase of the Immortals'.

His matches against Shawn Michaels, Triple H, CM Punk, Edge and Batista on those shows are the stuff of legend, as are his Mania clashes with Kane, Randy Orton, Ric Flair, Diesel and Brock Lesnar (although the latter more for the shock ending than for the quality of the bout itself).

However, as renowned as he is for putting on classics at WrestleMania events, it shouldn't be forgotten that Taker is quite adept at phenomenal matches throughout the rest of the year too.

And now he's back "taking souls and digging holes," we can't help but wonder if we'll be seeing The Undertaker back in a WWE ring before his usual WrestleMania appearance in 2017.

If he does and can deliver to a standard anywhere near the quality of these ten matches, we're in for a treat.

10. Vs. Batista (Backlash 2007)

At WrestleMania 23, the Undertaker and Batista absolutely stole the show; something which came as a bit of a shock.

While many had concerns as to how well the two big men would match up in the ring, 'The Animal' and 'The Deadman' turned out to have incredible chemistry, and produced something special on 'The Grandest Stage Of Them All'.

After Taker won the World Heavyweight Championship at Mania, it kickstarted a classic months-long feud between him and Batista and their rematch for the belt at the next month's Backlash was perhaps the best of the bunch.

In a Last Man Standing match, the two wrestlers once again worked at a tremendous pace for their size and cracked out some more memorable high spots as they worked a great brawl to a dramatic conclusion when Batista speared Taker off the stage.
