There's Going To Be A Big Trouble In Little China Reboot Because The Rock

Good thing he likes tank tops.

Dwayne Johnson's already proven himself as "franchise viagra" (Fast And Furious, G.I. Joe) and 'genre viagra' (San Andreas is looking like quite the hit). Now he's going to have a go at being 'reboot viagra'. Yeah, The Rock is currently in talks to star in a reboot of John Carpenter's 1986 cult classic, Big Trouble In Little China. His Furious 7 co-star, Kurt Russell, was the lead in the original, playing a trucker who becomes embroiled in a mystical battle hidden in Chinatown. Johnson's a strong screen presence and has more than earned his "viagra" title by injecting excitement into what would otherwise be rather cynical films, but taking on an incredibly eighties (and that's not meant as an insult) movie may be a step too far. Of course, there's no telling how much resemblance this film (which is not far along enough to have a director linked yet) will have to Carpenter's - Johnson's helping with the script and his company is producing, meaning this is likely more of a star vehicle than a straight reboot. No matter the quality though, this one'll be big. Expect an official announcement about the Big Trouble In Little China reboot in the coming weeks.
