This Is Why WWE Won't Book Steve Austin Vs Brock Lesnar

Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Brock Lesnar is absolutely not happening.

Stone Cold Steve Austin's health is a key factor in WWE being so against an Austin Vs Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania 32. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer thinks that Vince McMahon isn't willing to risk Austin's physical well being. "Austin's health is the key part of this equation," Meltzer stated, "If one of these guys with known serious injures gets hurt, at the age that they're at, because of what happened to Lawler and things like that, I think there's a lot of fear on Vince's side for that type of thing." Meltzer also said that the match "absolutely isn't happening." It is admirable on Vince's part that he's more concerned about Austin's health than any potential riches to be made. The big problem is that Lesnar isn't all that safe of a worker, and is known to be a little rough in the ring. That's just his style and for the most part it isn't a big deal. But put him in there with someone like Austin who has had a history of neck and knee injuries, in that instance it could end up that Lesnar causes serious harm. It may also be a case of McMahon doubting if Austin can even get past the WWE physical. The concern for safety is also the reason why Kurt Angle wasn't re-signed in 2014 and the reason why Hulk Hogan is unlikely to ever wrestle again. Austin had teased a comeback at WreslteMania 32 to wrestle Brock Lesnar, but has since said that it was just a bit of fun with Paul Heyman.
