Former NWA Women's Champion on her way to Stamford?

WWE could be on the verge of pinching another significant signing from under AEW’s news, as Dave Meltzer reports that former NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa could be on her way to Vince McMahon’s promotion.

This comes on the back of Rosa losing the NWA belt to AEW’s Serena Deeb on yesterday’s UWN Primetime Live show. The former champion had previously defended the belt against Deeb on an episode of AEW Dynamite ahead of her bout with Hikaru Shida at All Out, with the loss potentially freeing her up to join WWE.

Meltzer tweeted that both WWE and AEW were interested in signing Thunder Rosa:-

He also posted on his message board stating that he was told a few weeks ago that Deeb would win the belt and Rosa would be off to WWE. A successful title defence may have suggested the opposite, as Meltzer notes Rosa would have been allowed to keep the NWA Women’s Title if she was going to AEW.

If Rosa does sign with WWE, she’ll be the second former AEW guest star nabbed by the promotion in recent weeks, following on from Ben Carter.

Deeb defends the NWA Women’s Title against Leyla Hirsch on tonight’s Dynamite.
