SummerSlam 2021 had its first match announcement on last night's Raw.

Amidst all the talk of Roman Reigns vs. John Cena and Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg, WWE's first announced SummerSlam 2021 match is something entirely different.

As confirmed during last night's episode of Raw, Nikki A.S.H. will defend her Raw Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair in a 21 August Triple Threat.

This is an extension of everything that has happened at the top of the division since WrestleMania 37. Ripley captured the Raw Women's Title from Asuka in Tampa and entered a feud with Flair soon after, leading, eventually, to Charlotte taking the red belt at Money in the Bank 2021 nine days ago.

This reign lasted less than 24 hours, as A.S.H. cashed in her newly won Money in the Bank contract to win the belt on the following night's episode of Raw.

Nikki lost a non-title match to Charlotte last night. She cut a promo asking for a rematch afterwards, which will go down next week.

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley refused to respond to Goldberg's SummerSlam challenge last night, having been confronted by the returning veteran the previous week. The expected Reigns vs. Cena bout is yet to be booked as well.
