Two New Possible WWE Elimination Chamber Matches

The IC Title and Tag Team Titles will be contested in the demonic structure.

The Elimination Chamber event is taking place on May 31 on WWE Network. It's not going to air on traditional Pay-Per-View carriers, but it's a three hour show that will be like one of those PPV events. WWE is doing it in part because May is free for new WWE Network subscribers and they want to entice them to stick around after the month is over. With Payback set to take place this Sunday, no Elimination Chamber matches have officially been announced although the plan is to feature the Tag Team Championships and the vacated Intercontinental Championship in Elimination Chamber matches. For the Tag Team Title match in the Elimination Chamber, the plan is for six teams to take part in the match. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the plan would be for two teams to start in the ring with tornado tag team rules and then the other four teams would be together in the pods waiting to enter the match every five minutes. There are other alternatives being discussed as well with possibly less than six teams since you could do three teams, have one guy in each pod and go that way. If they do the six team format then the teams would likely be current Tag Team Champions New Day, Tyson Kidd & Cesaro, the Prime Time Players, the re-formed duo of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan who were likely put back together at this time for this match, the Lucha Dragons seem likely and one of the other three teams that are left: Sandow/Axel, The Ascension or Los Matadores. The first five teams are all pretty good and get great reactions from the fans, so the match would be very interesting to watch. It would be the first tag team Elimination Chamber match in WWE history and having those 12 guys in there at once would likely mean some quick eliminations so that the ring isn't too full. As for the vacated Intercontinental Title, they would need six superstars for that. Four of the likely combatants are Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, King Barrett and Neville. After that, the two other superstars could come from anywhere with Dean Ambrose as a possibility assuming he's not in a WWE Title match. They could also include Ryback or Bray Wyatt or perhaps both of them. Big Show could be brought back to take part in it. There really are a lot of options. The plan for the WWE Title currently held by Seth Rollins and US Title held by John Cena is to have those matches contested in regular matches. The spotlight will be on two other titles, which will make this show unique.
