UFC Champion Ronda Rousey Talks WWE & CM Punk

She compares WWE to something she's currently involved in...

rousey Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest names in UFC and she's also a big fan of WWE. This Saturday she defends her Bantamweight Championship against Alexis Davis at UFC 175 in Las Vegas. Rousey's done a lot of interviews in talking about the fight. She was on the Jim Ross Podcast this week and when she talked to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting she mentioned WWE on two separate occasions. When he was asked about CM Punk, she made a great point when talking about why the former WWE Champion left the company back in January. Here's how Rousey addressed CM Punk's absence: "No one can make you have passion for something if you don't. I felt that way about judo, it was over. I was over it and didn't want to do it anymore. If he wants to come back and finds that passion again, I would love to see that but if it's time to move on with his life then he has 100% of my support in that as well." She makes a great point because maybe Punk lost his interest in wrestling and that's a part of the reason why he left. It may have been more than just creative issues. Punk's been to some of her fights and they have been photographed together although she didn't say if they have talked about it. Rousey compared filming movies to WWE: "It's so similar to planning out fight scenes. I was just kind of messing around and thinking about cool moves to do in fight scenes. I really think of WWE like the purest form of stunts, kind of like in movies they say the purest form of acting is theater because it's live and all in one shot. I feel like WWE is the same for stunt work. I just kind of try to borrow from them a little bit and maybe I can steal some of their stunt work, throw it in a movie. If an opportunity comes up to show up and be a guest host or whatever, that would be pretty cool." It's that final sentence that is eye catching. If you're WWE, you should absolutely call her to see if there's any interest. Maybe she won't wrestle while she's still in UFC, but even having her showing up at SummerSlam or some other big event would be a big deal. They really should consider it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbF8Oemfm1E Rousey is 27 years old and has become a diehard WWE fan thanks to some of her friends that she trains with. If she isn't in WWE one day it would be a surprise. It's just a matter of when it might happen.
