WWE are currently locked in tight contract negotiations with AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler, and PW Insider have a delivered new update on both wrestlers' situations.

As far as 'The Phenomenal One' goes, WWE have made "a strong play" to retain the SmackDown man, though the two parties are still locked in talks. The man himself has already confirmed that nothing has been agreed yet:-

Although Styles will almost certainly be a target for All Elite Wrestling, the most likely scenario remains him re-signing with WWE, having used the emerging competition for leverage in negotiations. He has spoken about retiring with WWE several times in the past, though he'd obviously be a major asset for any rival promotion.

Ziggler, meanwhile, will be "continuing his relationship with WWE." It's currently unclear when his deal expires, though speculation on his future always seems to come up every couple of months, so like Styles, this isn't exactly surprising news.

Regardless, that these stories are even emerging shows that competition-wise, the wrestling business is in a much better place than it was a year ago. Performers didn't have these options before AEW's emergence, and their bargaining power is now stronger than it has been since WCW died.
