Braun's absence could mean a major rewrite for Brock Lesnar.

As reported on Monday, Braun Strowman looks set to miss 4-8 weeks of television after surgery to repair an undisclosed elbow injury. This effectively puts his current feud with Roman Reigns on ice, and WWE wrote him off by having Reigns attack his injured arm with a steel chair and the ring steps on this week's Raw.

As noted by Dave Meltzer on Monday's Wrestling Observer Radio, Strowman's injury isn't considered major, but the company won't know how long he'll be out for until he has the surgery. This has forced them into rethinking their next couple of pay-per-views, as Braun was expected to face Reigns at Extreme Rules (June 4th), then challenge for Brock Lesnar's WWE Universal Title at Great Balls Of Fire (July 2nd).

This has a knock-on effect for Reigns, who is now feud-less, and Lesnar, who may need a new opponent for July. WWE's Universal Title plans now appear to be up in the air, and there has been no word on Braun's potential replacement.

Reigns vs. Lesnar appears to be the obvious choice, but they're reportedly set to headline WrestleMania 34, leaving WWE short of options. Whatever happens, Strowman's injury looks set to trigger a big reshuffle.
