Update On Kenny Omega Wrestling For NJPW Again

Will the Best Bout Machine ever return to the Lion Mark?

NJPW

Kenny Omega left New Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this year, having dropped his IWGP Heavyweight Championship to company legend Hiroshi Tanahashi in a sensational Wrestle Kingdom bout on 4 January, before eventually ending months of speculation by announcing he'd signed for All Elite Wrestling at the nascent promotion's pre-Double Or Nothing rally.

Talk of the 'Best Bout Machine' potentially returning to NJPW has surfaced several times since then, despite the Lion Mark's apparent disinterest in forming a working relationship with his new home. Now, Dave Meltzer has brought further news on the subject via Wrestling Observer Radio.

A recent episode saw Meltzer report that while Omega's AEW contract would allow him to wrestle for NJPW, New Japan haven't yet reached out to him. He claims that the topic of whether or not the promotion will use the Canadian for future dates is a "debated issue" within NJPW.

New Japan's stance is understandable, as they likely felt slighted by Omega, The Young Bucks, Cody, and Hangman Page bolting from their company to form their own. Regardless, countless fans would be delighted to see Omega return to Japan to further his awesome legacy with the promotion.
