Update On Latest WWE Release Requests

Bad news for anyone who wants to see these unhappy stars in AEW...

The Revival Mike Kanellis Maria Kanellis

The Revival, Mike Kanellis, and Maria Kanellis all made headlines earlier this week, with Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson reportedly requesting their WWE release while still wearing their ring attire backstage at Raw, and the 205 Live power couple asking to be let go a few weeks prior.

Unfortunately for them, it doesn't look like Vince McMahon will be cutting anyone loose anytime soon.

Per PW Insider, Mike Kanellis had his release request turned down a few weeks ago. The rumours prompted a series of tweets from Maria, with this being the most interesting:-

As far as The Revival go, Dawson's father tweeted last night, claiming WWE had asked the throwback tag team give them three months to prove things will change. The comment has since been deleted.

In this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that nobody who asks for their WWE release is expected to be granted it, and that any wrestler with a contract expiring later this year will be offered a new long-term deal ahead of schedule.

All this chaos, and All Elite Wrestling isn't even off the ground yet. Expect the pro-wrestling labour market to get even more intense as the year progresses.
