There's still no word on where Rey Mysterio is heading next, but it won't be Global Force Wrestling.

The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that GFW had extended an offer to the former WWE Champion, but he chose not to take it. Mysterio was also in talks with WWE over the summer, but negotiations broke down as Vince McMahon didn't want to work with Konnan, who was representing Rey at the time.

According to the Observer, GFW had wanted Mysterio to face Alberto El Patron at their Bound For Glory pay-per-view on November 5th. The plan was to advertise Alberto vs. Jeff Jarrett for the event, before swerving the audience on the night, and having 'Double J' introduce Mysterio instead.

The company switched back to Jarrett vs. Patron when they couldn't agree a deal with Rey, but both are currently suspended, and there's no word on whether or not they'll be back for the PPV.

Mysterio recently injured his ankle while wrestling in Austria on September 2nd. He went straight to the hospital after competing, but it wasn't deemed serious enough to enforce a lengthy absence. He is expected to return to the ring within the next few weeks.
