Update On Rumours Of WWE Banning Seth Rollins' Curb Stomp

WWE and Seth Rollins come up with new finisher.

Seth Rollins' Curb Stomp has not been banned by WWE, reports Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. However, Rollins is going to be using a new finishing manoeuvre which is a DDT facebuster type move. Reports of the Curb Stomp being banned were buzzing over social media on Monday night. Meltzer sees it as a "semantic situation" and WWE don't want to draw attention to the move no longer being used. The fact it isn't banned means Rollins could still bust it out on very special occasions. That's a good thing, as moves carry far more meaning when rarely executed. The spot will ultimately mean a lot more in the long run. The reason for not featuring the finish as much is likely down to safety concerns. One misjudgement or slip and it could be potentially very nasty for the wrestler receiving the blow. Although obviously not as severe as a steel chair, the Curb Stomp is still an impact to the head. WWE are very sensitive around that issue right now, with several former wrestlers having recently filed legal cases against them for not protecting safety. Rollins shouldn't be too hurt by the change. He's a talented guy and innovative enough to come up with a range of other exciting moves. The Curb Stomp was a decent finish but it isn't the end of the world for the WWE Champion.
