All eyes were on New Orleans last week when WWE's leading officials headed to the city for their big WrestleMania 34 press conference, but Mania's return to the Big Easy wasn't the only talking point coming out of the event. Vince McMahon was seen walking with the aid of crutches at the press conference, and we now know why.

This week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Vince recently underwent minor hip surgery and is using the crutches as part of his recovery. There are no specific details on the surgery itself, but it is reportedly similar to the procedure that The Undertaker (who was pictured on crutches in October) underwent in 2016.

This is the second operation that Vince has has gone through in recent months. In September, it was reported that Vince had torn his quadricep muscle while squatting in the gym. The ensuing procedure was a complete success, and Vince was apparently back in his office two days later, but many assumed that Vince was still using the crutches as part of that particular recovery process.

A far from ideal situation for WWE's majority owner, but nothing will ever top the time he tore both quads at the 2005 Royal Rumble.

For anyone who missed it before, here's the image of Vince on crutches:-
