Update On WWE Dr. Chris Amann Suing CM Punk & Colt Cabana

The judge wants some answers from Punk and Cabana.

In an update on WWE Dr. Chris Amann's $1 million libel lawsuit against CM Punk and Colt Cabana, the Washington Post reports that a Cook County Circuit Court judge Janet Adams Brosnahan denied Punk and Cabana's motions to dismiss the case, which means that it is moving forward. The judge has ordered Punk and Cabana to submit answers to Amann's 15 page complaint in the lawsuit. Punk and Cabana have until August 24 to file a response to lawsuit. They will be asked to admit or deny the allegations or say they lack sufficient knowledge to answer.

The lawsuit by Amann stems from Punk's comments on Cabana's podcast last November when he called Amann lazy and said that he mistreated a concussion as well as a cyst that Punk had on his back. Punk claimed that the cyst eventually developed into a life threatening MRSA staph infection and said that Amann only gave him general antibiotics for his back, which did nothing to solve his health problems. Punk quit WWE in January 2014 and is currently training for his UFC debut either later this year or early next year. Cabana wrestles for independent wrestling promotions while still doing his podcast on a weekly basis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxHRJnZsinQ
