Sports Illustrated, in the midst of announcing WWE's plans for their post-Independence Day episode of Monday Night Raw this coming week, let slip that company officials were tickled pink over the direction of the show's most recent edition.

The company's executives, and in particular chairman Vince McMahon, were said to be "immensely pleased" with the "pacing, tone, and essence" of last Monday's show. The episode - the first since Paul Heyman took over the red brand as its Executive Director - saw the call-up of NXT tag team champions The Street Profits, the beginning of a pregnancy angle involving Maria Kanellis (at the expense of poor husband Mike), and Braun Strowman dramatically charging Bobby Lashley through the LED screen.

We also heard Corey Graves explete "Holy sh*t!" Apparently, similar sentiments have been expressed in Stamford - in a good way.

The article continued that this week's Raw will feature a mouthwatering mixed tag match pitting Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch against Anrade & Zelina Vega. Buds Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre will also take on Roman Reigns and a partner of his choosing.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
