Vince McMahon Officially Raises New WWE Logo

The logo makes its official debut at WWE Headquarters.

Fans have known for sometime now that the WWE has been planning to once again change their official logo. The so-called "scratch" logo was to be done away with, and in its place will be the sleeker and more stylized logo. The new emblem is derived from the WWE Network logo, which has been seen on the cover of upcoming WWE Blu-Rays and the soon-to-be released WWE 2K15. Yesterday, on August 15th, this new logo was affixed to WWE's headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Photos were tweeted by Vince McMahon, showing the new emblem on the side of WWE HQ, as well as on a flag atop the building. Interestingly, below the flag featuring the new logo, there is a smaller white flag which reads "$9.99". It seems WWE is continuing with the joke of constantly plugging the Network and its price -- a joke which no one finds funny, and quite frankly comes across as a bit desperate. Despite the WWE being in existence -- albeit under different names -- for the past 35 years, the company's logo has only gone through a handful of changes. There have been just four logos prior to this new Network-derived one -- the classic logo, so-called New Generation logo, the scratch logo of the Attitude Era, and the most recent WWE scratch logo. There's been no word yet, but it will also be interesting to see if the rumored new WWE Championship will be used on the show or if it will possibly be saved for an official unveiling the next night on Raw.
