Vince McMahon Primed To Answer CM Punk Question For Steve Austin Special

Will we hear a "Punk screwed Punk" speech?

CM Punk is set to be the major talking point of Stone Cold Steve Austin's interview with Vince McMahon on WWE Network tonight. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio believes that Austin will ask McMahon about Punk's exit issues, but in a manner that doesn't reference last week's specific Punk interview with Colt Cabana. Alvarez thinks that McMahon will respond to the Punk issue with a brief and politically correct statement. That's the sensible thing to do. Austin and McMahon can work together to informally brush up last week's Punk mess. A small section of soundbites will suffice. This will be a PR measure that corrects Punk's accusations of incompetent behaviour in the WWE. Alternatively, McMahon may judge that it is best to say nothing at all about CM Punk. The problem with that is it makes Steve Austin's credibility as a podcaster look really weak. Austin needs to be asking the big questions if he wants to be taken seriously as an interviewer - he will want to ask about Punk. What could happen is that McMahon starts talking about Punk and then gets carried away into a longer rant. If the WWE Chairman is upset and allows himself to get angry, we could end up with some explosive "Punk screwed Punk" remarks. The best bet remains the restrained brief statement. All of this is perfect timing for Austin, who will be recording the McMahon interview for his podcast. The WWE announced last week that the interview would air on WWE Network, and then on Wednesday came the shocking CM Punk interview with Colt Cabana. That's pretty much became the biggest wrestling story of the year, with Punk making all sorts of accusations and comments about WWE. It has now set the agenda up for what should be an explosive Steve Austin interview with Vince McMahon after tonight's Raw.
