According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon "blew a gasket" backstage at Monday's Raw during the interview segment featuring Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. The fans' pro-Lesnar reception irritated McMahon so greatly that he made the decision to hit Lesnar's music and end the segment early.

Goldberg has been positioned as the clear babyface in his program with Lesnar and Heyman, but the fact that Raw was held in Lesnar's former hometown of Minneapolis meant that the fans in attendance were behind "The Beast." Despite Heyman's best efforts, fans cheered loudly for Lesnar and chanted "Goldberg sucks."

McMahon's worry comes from experience. At WrestleMania XX, a babyface Goldberg took on a heel Lesnar in a major interpromotional battle, but fans rejected the bout because news broke days earlier than both men were leaving the company afterwards. The match was constructed to play off a huge crowd reaction, but when the reaction wasn't what was expected, the bout fell apart.

There are three episodes of Raw left between now and Survivor Series, when the two men will clash. Goldberg is scheduled for the October 31 episode, while Goldberg and Lesnar will both be on the November 14 go-home show.
