Vince McMahon Unhappy With Stone Cold Steve Austin

The reason Chris Jericho has replaced Steve Austin on WWE Network.

Vince McMahon was not happy with Stone Cold Steve Austin and his line of questioning to Triple H in February's WWE Network interview. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that a person close to the situation said there was a falling out of sorts between McMahon and Austin. This is likely to be the reason why WWE has replaced Austin with Chris Jericho for future interview shows on WWE Network. Jericho is set to interview John Cena and then host more shows in the coming months. This could be the reason Austin reportedly snubbed his expected attendance at WrestleMania 31. With McMahon and Austin at odds with each other, any talk of Stone Cold coming back for a match at WrestleMania 32 is dead. The rumour has been Austin vs Lesnar for that show, but right now it looks very unlikely to happen. Furthermore, Lesnar has gone babyface and his physical style wouldn't be ideal for Austin's previously injured neck. What upset McMahon so much is obviously Austin's questioning about Chyna. It brought up old wounds and Chyna ended up speaking out with allegations that Hunter once hit her. Austin had opened up something that the WWE really didn't want to be bothered with. McMahon probably took it personally, as it sort of related to his daughter Stephanie. Hopefully McMahon and Austin can work their issues out. It would be a shame if this incident ruined Austin's potential comeback. It shouldn't be allowed to stand in the way of what would be huge business next year if WWE and Austin could do a deal for Mania 32 in his home state Texas. What made the Austin interviews so great was that he didn't hold back. Let's hope Chris Jericho isn't going to just throw soft balls on behalf of WWE. His WWE Network show with John Cena is scheduled for next Monday.
