What Happened After Last Night's WWE Raw Went Off The Air? (May 18)

Roman Reigns wasn't on Raw, but he teamed up with John Cena after the show was over.

When last night's Raw stopped recording, a match was set that saw John Cena team up with Roman Reigns against Rusev and Seth Rollins. It's typical that a taping without a match in the last segment would end with what's known as a dark match as the babyface duo of Cena and Reigns got the win. The match only went about five minutes. It was likely one of those scenarios where the heels had control for a minute and then the Cena/Reigns came back to get the victory. It's typical wrestling booking done to send the fans home happy. What's notable about it is that Reigns wasn't on Raw at all this week. It was a bit of surprise to go through the show without seeing him since he's such a big name and has been featured on Raw so heavily in the last few months. At this point, we don't know who Reigns will feud with next. During Raw they advertised that "Roman Reigns returns on Smackdown" this week. Returns from what? An absence on Raw, apparently. Perhaps we will find out who his Elimination Chamber opponent might be on Smackdown. It likely won't be Big Show or Kane since they have done those matches too often and in looking at the heel roster, there aren't too many candidates for a Reigns opponent other than somebody like Bray Wyatt. That's merely speculation at this point. Following Elimination Chamber, WWE has Money in the Bank in June. Reigns could factor in the Money in the Bank match as one of the contenders for the coveted briefcase or perhaps he could face Seth Rollins for the WWE Title in a singles match. Remember that if you go to a Raw or Smackdown taping, stick around after the show is over because there usually is a post show match and it's designed to send the crowd home happy.
