What Happened After WWE Raw Went Off The Air? (July 6)

John Cena praises Cesaro in front of the Chicago crowd.

In a rematch from last week, John Cena defeated Cesaro in a classic Raw main event match on Monday night. It went 30 minutes long and when it was over, the appreciative Chicago crowd gave them a standing ovation. After the cameras stopped rolling, Cena took time to thank his opponent for his performance. There was no post show match, so Cena did a promo. He spoke about how Chicago was hallowed ground for WWE because of all the special moments that have taken place there. Cena also noted that it was the site of his first match on WWE's main roster in 2002 when he put up a fight against Kurt Angle. https://twitter.com/JohnCena/status/618286561919148033 Cena brought Cesaro back into the ring to praise him for his performance in their match. Even though Cesaro lost, he came very close to winning multiple times. It was a rematch from last week except this time it went longer and it had a clean finish. Cena was very candid in telling Cesaro that the WWE Universe are the key to his success and said "right now they love you." Cena complimented Cesaro by saying that he can do things in the ring that no other man can do. He thanked Cesaro for giving him another memorable moment in the greatest wrestling city on the planet. https://twitter.com/Enzo_Marino/status/618260239767502849/video/1 The crowd ended up chanting "Cesaro" and then Cena stepped aside to let the Swiss Superman soak in the cheers. It truly was one of the best WWE matches this year and hopefully the launching point for Cesaro to receive a massive push as a singles wrestler sooner rather than later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmbFq7zwgC8
