What Happened After WWE SmackDown Went Off The Air

Did fans in Detroit see a little Royal Rumble preview?

Royal Rumble 2020

Fans in Detroit for last night's SmackDown show were treated to a Royal Rumble 2020 preview of sorts after the broadcast went off the air.

Following Daniel Bryan's Triple Threat win over The Miz and 'King' Corbin earlier in the night, WWE ran a dark match main between Bryan and Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' character once the cameras stopped rolling. On-site correspondents told Lords Of Pain that the 'Fiend' came out with his customised Universal Title belt instead of the standard blue one, but also brought his dreaded red lighting with him.

Wyatt performed both his Sister Abigail and Mandible Claw finishers on Bryan before leaving him prone inside the ring as a laughter track looped for approx 30 seconds. The whole match/angle lasted less than five minutes.

Other fans in attendance noted that WWE never made it obvious the Universal Title was on the line. One even told Lords Of Pain, "I could be wrong, but I don’t even recall it being a title match. He just came in and they fought briefly out of the ring, and then in the ring. There certainly wasn’t an announcement of a winner".

Even the 'Fiend's' dark match appearances are a mystery, it seems.
