Normally WrestleMania season is the one time of year that WWE always gets it right or at least as close as possible. Look no further than 2014 and the build to the 30th annual event for evidence of how the company was able to take a previously chosen direction, read the audience and shift gears based on the wants of the fan base. When all else fails, the build to the industrys marquee event is when Vince and his crew seem to be firing on all cylinders. Normally the weeks leading up to Mania are filled with hot angles, tense confrontations and smart booking that builds anticipation to a fever pitch. Thats not the case this year at all. This is the period when WWE should be cruising confidently along the Road to WrestleMania, but instead theyre sputtering and stalling out in a beat up wreck that most fans are embarrassed to be seen in. The blame for the apathy toward the 31st event is to be placed solely at the feet of Vince McMahon. WrestleMania is his baby and the buck stops with him; everything that takes place on the card does so with his approval.
