Can you believe that Chris Benoit Vs Shawn Michaels Vs Triple H was ten years ago this week? It certainly doesn't feel like a decade since Benoit lifted the World Championship in one of the best matches to ever grace Madison Square Garden. Perhaps time seems to have flown because we haven't really had a firmly defined period unlike the Cartoon years or Attitude era. Whereas other decades have seen rapid developments, the last ten years have been more of a steady progression of the product. Many of the same headliners are still working and while some new characters have developed, the storylines are essentially built around the same derivative formulas. One thing that has been in consistent in the last decade has thankfully been quality wrestling matches. The Attitude era gets its plaudits, but this last decade has been the real home of in-ring wrestling. Each year for the last ten years we have seen some of the best pro wrestling matches to ever take place in WWE's 50 year history. In picking the ten best matches of the last decade, we have selected the specific match of the year and then arranged the list in order of quality. What is quality defined as? The in-ring action, storyline and athleticism. These are the things that really contribute towards a great wrestling match. For example, if 2014 was included on the list, we would have thus far gone for Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt at Royal Rumble. It was an athletic contest which had big moves and exciting fast paced transitions of action. The modern style has became dominated by these factors of pace, agility and hard hitting. The last decade illustrates this, with the most entertaining performers being amazing athletes. So let's get to it, the ten best matches of the last ten years put in order of quality...
