We're just over a week away from the Royal Rumble, and of course we're hoping that it will be another iconic installment, after last year's Rumble match was one of the most forgettable in history, largely thanks to another John Cena win and a lack of memorable spots. A lot of work goes into planning a Royal Rumble match, and for me it's easily the most anticipated and exciting match of the year, a 60-minute battle for supremacy that then sets the stage for WrestleMania. This is extra important as WrestleMania XXX is being billed as an even bigger deal than normal due to it being the 30th iteration of the event, so it's time to look back at the history of the PPV and consider some of its best moments. Hopefully the WWE's writing team will be doing the same, looking at what worked, what didn't, and making this year's Rumble better thought-out and more spot-packed than the last few.
