As the weeks and months go by it's becoming more and more obvious that Daniel Bryan is being held back. Initially, in the aftermath of SummerSlam, we all thought it was part of a long gestating story but, after so many poor Creative decisions, it's becoming clear that WWE are probably trying to ride out the #yesmovement in the hope it dies away. On Raw this week, Bryan had a great fifteen minute segment with The Authority where, buoyed by the hot Chicago crowd, he himself offered many of the issues for this situation ranging from dodgy refereeing decisions, The Shield interference and Triple H himself. This is all well and good for the storyline but there is clearly something else happening backstage. If rumours are even vaguely true, one of the many reasons CM Punk walked out on the company was because he believed the Royal Rumble match was Daniel's time to shine and go into WrestleMania as the number one contender. Not only did this not happen, he didn't even appear in the match itself with poor old Rey Mysterio being sent out to the crowd's ire (stay classy WWE).
