WWE: 10 Reasons Alexander Rusev Can Be A Top Guy

9. Lana

Never underestimate the powerful effect a stunningly gorgeous woman can have on an act. "Macho Man" Randy Savage was a phenomenal wrestler on his own but with Miss Elizabeth by his side, he became a main event caliber character. Triple H was a fine wrestler and the most hated heel in the industry but when he aligned himself with the devious Stephanie McMahon, he was catapulted into a new stratosphere of stardom. Even Shawn Michaels' relationship with "Sensational" Sherri elevated him to a level he may not have achieved without her fawning all over him. Lana is a bit more than just a female manager for Rusev, however. She is his social ambassador. While that role may not be quite defined at this point, she has a very important duty to perform: It is her job to get him over with the audience. As the mouthpiece for the massive Bulgarian, she communicates with the audience on his behalf, thus making her vital to the success of the competitor. From a character standpoint, she is also the only person that can control the mighty Rusev. When he locks in the Accolade and his opponent taps out, he oftentimes refuses to break the hold. It is Lana that enters the ring and orders him off his opponent. That is a hugely important element of the character and further highlights the importance of the leggy blonde to the act.
