WWE: 10 Reasons Randy Orton Was The Right Choice To Unify Titles

Randy Orton The decisive and clean win of Randy Orton over John Cena at TLC 2013 has firmly re-established one of WWE's veteran stars. It was ten years ago that Orton first started making waves in the WWE, and he hasn't been far away from the main event ever since. In saying that, he spent the first half of 2013 in absolute limbo. The Orton character was flat. After years as a heel, Orton found himself lumbered with an ineffective good guy image for most of 2012 and the start of this year. It just wasn't natural for the unlikable and good looking methodical wrestler. Randy spiralled into irrelevancy, and found himself lumped into a random six man tag match at Wrestlemania 29. Orton's once proud standing as a WWE top guy was seriously in question. With no real interest from the Creative department and wellness policy violations hanging over his head, it looked as if Orton was in a genuinely precarious position within the WWE. What a difference seven months can make. Orton is now back among the elite. He has dominated the WWE championship scene since August and gained one of the biggest wins of his career when he bested Cena for the WWE title and World title at TLC. Orton is heading into 2014 as arguably the hottest act in the company. His Summerslam heel turn and 'face of the company' persona have revitalised his talent. Here we look at 10 reasons WWE made the right call in getting behind Randy once again - and why he is set to dominate 2014...
