WWE: 10 Steps To Booking Sting vs The Undertaker At WrestleMania 31

Undertaker Sting #22 is Brock Lesnar. Will #23 be Sting? Just a quick note at the very top of this before we continue: No, it is by no means confirmed that Undertaker vs Sting will happen at Wrestlemania 31 in Santa Clara and based on some of the feedback I received to the precursor to this article last month, let me preface this by saying that there is by no means a guarantee that WWE will take an approach even remotely close to what I'm about to suggest, should this match be in the works at all. My background in writing comes from TV drama, so, naturally, I tend to sway towards what I've learned about telling a story on screen. It's not always 100% adequate for WWE's brand of entertainment and I firmly believe both mediums can borrow from the other. With that said, I hope what I write might inspire some ideas of your own. Collectively, I bet everyone out there who might read this article could come up with a storyline paramount to the best out there. If, whilst reading this you come up with anything better, let me know in the comments section below. I'd love to hear someone tell me a better way to promote this feud that I've missed! The other thing I quickly want to discuss is the target audience WWE needs to cater towards with this feud. There's a good chance that all of you who've found your way to this article know very well indeed who Steve Borden is, what he is and what he's done. I'm sure most of you could describe to tremendous detail the highlights of his epic career through the UWF, NWA, WCW and TNA. No disrespect but it is not you who WWE needs to be concerned about with this feud. They book 'Taker vs Sting at 'Mania and they could have them spend a year doing a best of 191 series of egg-and-spoon races and you'll pay your 10 dollars to watch the match comes on March 29th 2015. The concern they have is the mainstream WWE fanbase of youth, whom may only have a vague idea whom Steve Borden is. In fact, that blissful ignorance, so often a detriment to an aspiring story writer might be a blessing in this case. In many ways, the time has never been more right for WWE to do this feud. The WWE Network has just been launched and it will serve to be a staple of this program for the following year to come. So here we go, from April 7th 2014 through March 29th 2015... 10 things WWE could do to promote Undertaker vs Sting at Wrestlemania 31 in Santa Clara.
