WWE 1999 PPVs From Worst To Best

The Austin Era or the Year of the B Shows?

1999 was a big year for the WWF. They finally overtook WCW, who were rapidly heading towards self-destruction, and business was booming. The company were selling out their shows everywhere and had no shortage of talent, most of whom were over. The main events were being carried by The Rock, Steve Austin, Triple H, Kane, The Undertaker, Mankind and Vince McMahon. That's a damn impressive roster, whichever way you chose to look at it. The WWF product was changing in many different ways. Some were for the better, such as the rise of talented midcarders like D-Lo Brown, Val Venis and the incoming Chris Jericho. The production and all-round presentation of the product was arguably the best it had ever been. The company was a well-oiled machine and a merchandise phenomenon. Ratings, buy rates and attendances were all up. Creatively, meanwhile, there were still a few hickups, with dodgy and often nonsensical storylines, usually penned by the polarising Vince Russo (who really didn't care about the actual wrestling). The company might have been doing big numbers, but how were the PPVs overall? 1998 was not a particularly great year for the company, with many of their big shows failing to hit their mark. Would 1999 prove to be any different or was it a case of more of the same? Join us (and switch on the WWE Network) as we rank the promotion's 1999 PPVs from worst to best.
